The services below were provided for the largest manufacturing business unit of its type in the world. This facility had three unions representing three different work groups/job functions. The need surfaced due to an anticipated expansion/start-up of an existing department and the start-up of a new machine. The company wanted to institute a certification process for a high performing and self-directed work team. The goals of management and leaders were to identify best practices in talent acquisition, culture transformation, performance, engagement, training and development, and to develop a customized high performing program to be utilized for existing and new individuals entering the department.
Major tasks included, but were not limited to: collaborating with senior management in strategizing and mapping an integrated change management plan, assessing and identifying conducive culture characteristics, redesigning new structure, identifying competencies, facilitating the design of the new talent management process, and helping create and implement a different reward system.
Other duties included: rewriting policies, procedures, and processes for the entire certification process, equipping managers with new skills, selecting new employees internally and externally with skills to drive key performance indicators, conducting team building activities, benchmarking facilities, job profiling and competency modeling, technical and soft skills curriculum development and implementation, gap analysis, screening, interviewing, training and selecting candidates.
Curriculum was developed and utilized for management training purposes. Assessment tools were also developed to assess training impact at various levels. Accompanying new business processes were developed. The project was a huge success in that this new line increased production and resulted in accomplishing three production world records set by teams and machine.
